Y’all won’t learn anything abut the older “Sun Tune” Tune Up Machines unless you have a Grandfather or a Grt.Grandfather that’s still living and able to teach you from his experience how each Sun Test & Tune Tune Up Calibration Machine works.
Some Older High School Shops selling off their old out of date (out of date in 1980’s) Sun Testing Tune Up Master Machines my sell there’s with complete Instructions & Manuals.
Or better yet Old Dealerships that operated from the 1940’s Up to around the 1990’s that have closed and all the inventory is being auctioned off may have those older vintage Sun Tune Up Machines with all the Operator Manuals still with each Sun Machine, other wise if your Dad, Grandfather or Grt. Grandfather or Grt.Uncle/Aunt, in other words if your relatives or older friends are not in their late 60’s at the least and they worked at a Dealership or Small “Full Service Gas Station” back in their teens and that operated had Sun Technology Tune Up Machines and actually used them, then most of the hand held Sun Tune Up Machines or The Sun Master Tune Up Machines, even a simple Sun Dwell/Tech Machine, then most of the History and Function of those great old Sun Tune Up Machines will be lost in time forever… Then all that Big Square Blue Sun Master Tune Up Machine will be good for is, Did you know “My Grandfather used a Sun Master Tune Up Machine just like that when he (Dustin C.S.) was a teenager and worked for John Wolfis at Wolfis Full Service Standard Station in Portage Michigan on Westnedge Ave” in the 1970’s & 1980’s” So much has already been lost to time bcuz time doesn’t stand still, it keeps moving forward and everything that was simply once is forgotten and our Children and their Children move on to what becomes simply to them but futuristic to us from past generations that may still be breathing and thinking of the “Good Old Simply Day’s of our Youth”…
My words of advice is “If you find any of the Operator Manuals of any Old Sun Tune Up Machines, is share it with the world so it’s not lost to the next generation” I’m in early Dementia now and losing the fight fast, I have used many Sun Tune Up and Sun Master Tune Up Machines in my teens 50+ year’s ago when working at John Wolfis, Wolfis Full Service Standard Station in Portage, MI & Spike Hubbard’s, Spikes Citgo Full Service Gas Station in Mattawan, MI. I’m sorry I can no longer pull up the older memories in my mind on how all those Cool old Sun Tune Up Master Machines worked…

hi.today i bought a sun electric corporation timing light
model: tl-600
who can tell me the manual of this.i want to send it to this museum. please contact me
I used Sun Electric equipment from 1967 until I retired from automotive work in 1993. The Vat 40 and several models of Engine Analyzers including the big ones with scopes and computer screens hung from out shop ceiling and slid along a long I-beam track. Once the cars started self-diagnostics. I could see the end coming to the big diagnostic equipment. However, when I hear a dealer say, “These codes mean this is why your car runs like shit. However, we won’t really know until replace these parts and then we will see if it needs more.”, I think we really have not progressed very far. I am most thankful that most vehicles really last a long time without needing repairs.
I am trying to restore a sun motor tester master model. Is there a source for replacement parts?
Can you help me find a working vat 40, your help would be appreciated
This is the sign for the model DT-504 Distributor Tester and it sat on top of the headframe and was attached with screws.
I just bought a instrument in the picture above, would you kindly let me know how this work, or do you have a training Manuel on this instrument?
