ANY INFORMATION
mind-wandering to past times, in 1956-58 : I worked at Brunswick bldg in Chgo offices downtown. They were mostly into billiards & bowling all supplies & professionals – a huge well respected business – started subsidiary in South America, but d.k. if that developed. It was huge, with many office workers in open-space areas. I recall i had no complaints as employee, moved up because of abilities and left there nothing to do with work but Chgo terrible climate, thus living conditions. My memories still serve me well – of having had an opportunity to work, learn and not complain – then nor now.
Does anyone have information about the draftsmen that worked here, and examples of their work?
They also occupied extensive premises on both sides of W. Superior St. (addresses 93 – 101 and 88 – 114) and on one side of W. Huron St. (addresses 85 – 111), between N. Sedgwick St. and N. Orleans St.
This can be examined in more detail by looking at the 1906 Sanborn fire insurance map for that neighborhood (link is for relevant map on Library of Congress website).
