I have a Jackie Robinson Card printed in green ink on the back. It’s the exact same color of ink on the gum wrapper. I was wondering the same thing. I researched and found that there may have been a shortage of black ink and that green may have been used when some of these cards were produced. Any info u
you may have on this subject would be greatly appreciated
I am currently research Leaf as well, more geared on their baseball cards that were produced in 1948. By chance, have you come across who they used for the printing of their labels? I have a feeling they may have also printed the cards. If you have any info please let me know and as I pull together the story of the cards I will share that back with you.
